2019 Subaru Outback – Appearance of Exterior and Interior
Subaru has been making small changes to the interior and exterior design of the Outback for some time now. The 2018 model saw a more rugged exterior look while making the inside more luxurious and comfortable, with a redesigned centre console and steering wheel as well as upgrades to the Starlink multimedia system. However, the rumour mill has suggested that there will be some major changes coming with the Subaru Outback 2019.
It has been suggested (though not confirmed yet) that the 2019 Subaru Outback will have a much sleeker design to the exterior compared with the chunkier styling of the 2018 Outback. Moving away from the sharp angles to a curvier look that will be more appealing. A redesigned front grill is also hinted at, improving air flow and engine cooling. And the headlights will be switched to the more common LED variety.
In terms of the interior, there are expectations that it will be made roomier, with a redesigned seating system allowing for more passengers in great comfort. There will also be more headroom for all passengers and great legroom.
2019 Subaru Outback – Modification under the Hood
The 2018 Outback offered two engine packages: the 2.5-liter flat-four produced 175 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque. While the 3.6-liter flat-six provided 256 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. And both engines come in CVT (continuously variable transmission) and AWD (all-wheel drive). The 2018 Outback also offered a manual mode with paddle shifters for those who do not like CVT.
Currently there is no new information that has been confirmed on the 2019 Outback engine specs. But it is safe to say that the engine options will remain the same with minor tweaks at most. Rumors suggest smaller engines at a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder option or a 3.5-liter 6-cylinder option. With 170 hp/175 lb-ft of torque and 250 hp/240 lb-ft of torque respectively. And gas mileage to the tune of 32 mpg/27 mpg highway for the 4- and 6-cylinder engine options (respectively).
2019 Subaru Outback – Expected Date of Arrival and Price
Conservative estimates put the 2019 Subaru Outback at around $27 000 for the base mode. As the 2018 model is expected to be released in the third quarter of 2017. It makes sense to assume the 2019 model will hit the dealerships in the third quarter of 2018.
